Would this be a bad time to mention the anniversary of Apollo 11? I am so tired of Michael Jackson. Being annoyed by the ongoing news coverage keeps me so busy I can't be annoyed by the new Harry Potter movie, which I would normally find very annoying indeed. But this is clever, and I make a lot of space in my life for cleverness. Eternal Moonwalk. [Flash Warning] [Sound Warning] Thanks to Nik N. for the link!

This is my first time posting on here, although I've been lurking for over a year now.

Yesterday, me, my friend, and her sister made a delicious and beautiful poppyseed pancake recipe.  This was a test recipe for a brunch that will be thrown the day after her sister's wedding.  So, I share it with you.  Trust me on this one, I don't share something unless I absolutely adore it, and this one is phenomenal.  Unfortunately, I do not have any photos.

I would also like to note that these are rather rich, but very good.  After making this I thought that a lemon variation would also be good, more tart, but still good.

I hope you enjoy!

This is my favorite macaroni and cheese recipe in the world. It's absolutely delicious and also deliciously easy. It takes about 5 minutes of prep and 45 minutes of hands-off baking. My boyfriend and I eat this as a main dish all the time, with salads or yeast rolls or . . . cupcakes. Ahem. The sausages on top are optional. Hope you enjoy!

Oven Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Sausages

Recipe By: unknown
Yields: 4-6 side servings, 2-3 main dish servings

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups dry macaroni
4 cups milk
1 block sharp cheddar cheese, grated (or about 4 cups)
1 package breakfast sausage links (or bulk sauage, cooked) (optional)
salt and pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray large, rectangular pyrex dish with nonstick cooking spray. Put butter into dish and set it in the oven as it preheats. When butter is melted, take the dish out and add macaroni. Stir until macaroni is coated. Add milk, cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir and make sure ingredients are evenly distributed. Bake at 400 for 45 minutes. Place cooked breakfast sausages on top (and sprinkle a little extra cheese if desired) and heat in oven until hot.

NOTE: Sausages can be left off for plain macaroni and cheese. If you don't have nonstick cooking spray, stir every 15 minutes to prevent the macaroni from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Edit: Some comments expressed displeasure about the photo, which perhaps didn't showcase the dish. I decided just to leave you with the simple recipe, but photos are available on my blog. I hope you'll enjoy the recipe.

Thanks for all the help last time guys, I was able to sway the chef into loving key lime pie.

I want to make a Green Tea cake with red bean paste filling. I was eyeing this recipe as a guideline of sorts while this is the recipe I want to modify to add the flavor into:

I've only worked with Matcha once for a recipe, and can't remember exactly how strong it is. I hope you guys can help me out.

Mister Tip Top Tap has been here, grievously disrupting Emer's life and making me and Rob very very happy. We are getting a new bathroom, and he's doing exactly what we ask, except when he goes one further because it just looks better that way. Emer didn't like him taking our old bath away or making a mess in our house.

But she also took a few days to come to terms with his place in our lives.

I said, on Monday, "I need a hug!" and Emer said no, and Linnea said no, and Emer said "I know, a fixing man can gib you a cubble." I said no, he wasn't someone we knew well enough to hug, and she said "But him in my HOUSE."

Which leads me to ask, originally in IM with Miche but also here: anyway, why would you have someone in our house you weren't willing to cuddle? hmm?

"Know Your Enemy" by Green Day is a blatant subconscious lift of the "we have a remedy" bit from "A Quick One (While He's Away)" by the Who.

Oink
I ache, am knackered, and have had a headache for a few days. Linnea woke crying and yelling at 6 am (very early for her) and was listless all day, ending up cranky and unpleasant. Emer is ok. No-one has a fever at all and we could all, eg, go to work and be crap and stupid all day and irritate people ("work through it").

Linnea and I are responding well to paracetamol, and Emer agreed to try some but didn't like it. I wonder if we can find the real-sugar version anywhere because she hates artificial sweeteners and that might help.

I napped in the front room while they watched telly and climbed on me. When Rob came home I went to bed. I am so tired.

String Revolution is a new knitting blog by the woman who made Linnea's best cardi (most versatile, most forgiving, and unless it's high summer, smartest).

I don't knit, but I like knitting in others.

Hi guys! I haven't posted here in a really long time but I wanted to get some advice!

Sunday the 26th is my niece's third birthday party, and I'm making a cake and cupcakes. Before that day, I'll have been in California from the 21st and I actually get in around 6am on the 26th. I just realized I'd be getting in that early, as I planned on making the cakes the night before and waking up early to make icing and cover the main cake in fondant. Luckily I've already made all of the gumpaste decorations.

So! I'm wondering how far in advance can I make the cakes and/or cupcakes and freeze them? If I make them this Saturday (at least the cake) and freeze it will it be gross the following Sunday?

- I just checked the memories, sorry! So just look at the cake I made, haha. -

Thank you so much! Here is a picture of the cake I did for my sister's baby shower so this isn't text-only:
